Camera Critters # 84 - Mourning Dove

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

The Mourning Dove is a common bird in the Spring through Fall in our area. Here is one I saw near the small stream in the neighborhood. They do like the Ohio Buckeye Tree.
They check out the flower beds looking for food.
They like to come onto my deck and show there stuff.
This is a tree from the neighborhood where I saw this one.
They are very comfortable on the gravel roads. I love the iridescent strip on their neck and their red legs.
They are a neat bird. Visit some other great critter sites above.

Nice shots Tom!
I usually have around eight or so under my bird feeder. I went to the window and checked when I saw your post come up. I only see three sitting in the trees at the moment.

How lovely to see these doves in beautiful settings. We see them here on fence tops and electric wire for the most part ... often in pairs.
Hugs and blessings,

Lovely dove shots. I never seem to get anything but shots of them pecking for seeds in the driveway. This is a nice variety.

I Love to hear doves coo.

These are one of my favorite birds. Not sure why, but they are. Years ago, a friend tried to tell me that the cooing sound I was hearing was a turkey. I made a mental note never to take him turkey hunting!

Remember that bill to allow hunting of Morning Doves? That never passed did it?
