Camera Critters # 86 - Wild Turkey

Being Thanksgiving week I thought I would display some wild turkey I saw one day along the road.

There was a large flock probably of one family.

They stayed around a long time and I got quite a few photos of the gang.

You can see a lot of critters above.

Great turkey post! We used to see the wild turkey along Rt 417 in FL all the time going too and from Disney, but I never stopped to try and take a photograph. I didn't want the FHP to get upset with me!

Great pictures Fishing Guy. Here in OK we have lots of wild turkeys and I have sometimes come upon a whole flock (herd, school, ???) of them up close but have never had my camera close by.

Great shots, FG!
They don't get close enough for me to get "good" shots of them.
BUT, someday I'll own a zoom lens and they won't have to be close.

I bet lots of them mourn in losing their friends and families last Thanksgiving hehehe (kidding). Great shots!

An excellent camera critters post, Tom. I like to see the strutting, or "puffed up" as we sometimes call it.

Nice job, FG! Do you know, even in large groups, I've only ever seen females in the wild? Never a male.

Wonderful turkeys! Makes me feel bad for eating one, when I see them wild like this.

Fabulous turkey pictures, Tom! I haven't been around in a while - was traveling and taking care of some family business. Trying to catch up on the impossible task of blog hopping! Happy Holidays!!!
