Header Competition # 4

It is time again to change the header. Mac, Tom, Darla and I have a little contest to show a new theme header each week. Go to the other sites to see their interpretation of Darla's suggestion of Tree Bark. My dog passed a while back so I couldn't get him barking at a tree. So I chose the above shot instead. This is Birch Tree bark in both old and new stages with a Mourning Dove in the branches. It is a fun challenge. We are keeping it small limited to just to this group.

I went out to a park and took some photos of the mighty Sycamore Tree that had been through some wind storms. This branch was so interesting to me. It was like the ghost of the tree was speaking to me.
They are large trees and it was fun to shoot the bark through into the sky. They have sustained a lot of wind damage but produce new growth each year.
I do hope you enjoyed the tree bark challenge.

That's not a dog barking in that beautiful birch tree. Surely you need glasses Tom. ;-)
I love the theme and am sure I have loads of bark pics in my files.
Need to check out what the others did.

Okay and with that said...I was just getting ready to turn in for the night and got hit in the head with a ton of bricks....soooooo sorry that you had to be away for a funeral Tom. Please forgive me for not being more considerate...I know it's early to turn in, our ninth grader catches the bus at 5:58 A.M. I have to have at least two cups of coffee before I take her to the bus stop..Thinking of you!

Even though dry, the tree's got some sort of beauty of it's own. Nicely shot! Header image is fabulous!
