Camera Critters # 64

Camera Critters by Misty Dawn, go here to see who's participating.

Today I'm showing my garden enemy. He is on my list as the #1 public enemy. He is allowed in the onions, just don't enter the fence.
He noticed something else interesting.
Oh no, you are not going to take up residence in the shed. No way is that allowed. He didn't smell any food and left quickly.
Have fun with other critters above.

Hey Tom... We've had experience with those woodchucks/groundhogs too.. (Seems like we've had experience with all critters. ha) Anyhow--we found his home and when we knew he was not in there, we covered the opening with huge rocks. Guess what??? He finally left--and we haven't seen him since...And no others have come since that was about 3-4 yrs. ago.

SO--get out there and find his home!!!!!! (Ours had dug a big hole next to a large tree with roots around.)

lol... for some reason I thought of the film Caddy Shack when I read your story. He is mighty cute though! :D

Yikes! When I read 'garden enemy' I expected nothing bigger than a slug (our worst pest). I was going to ask what it was but read Betsy's comment. Does it bite? Can you eat it?

I loved this post--but good luck keeping him/her out of the garden and the shed.

LOL.. we both posted garden pests today. Yours is MUCH larger than mine. I've never seen a woodchuck (if thats what he is). He looks like he could eat a LOT of garden goodies.

He's a bold little fella going into the shed!

Too funny! We have an enemy at our house too, big black ants. But at least our ants are not as big as your intruder.

I can completely understand why this critter is your public enemy number one. Did you get him out of the shed?

I haven't seen a groundhog since I left WV. Seems they don't like the heat.
But I love to watch them. Thanks for sharing these pictures and his story. tee hee
Ground hogs just can't get a break. tee hee

Dare I say your #1 enemy is cute? ;-)

I must agree that garden pests are way cuter when they eat someone else's garden.

Tom - I'm going to start calling you Dr. Doolittle! LOL!

Very funny! The critter is a bit angry, isn't it? Nice shots, Fishing Guy.

How do you get them to pose for the camera, nice!

It's so cute and we all wondered what it was, thankfully we found out on the comments. We have never seen anything like it before. =)

I'm glad we don't have such pests. They're so cute I'm afraid I would let them do whatever they wanted!

Groundhog are a real menace to gardens. Good luck with the battle.

I thought he looked really interesting but then we don't have groundhogs/woodchucks (?) in the UK.
Loved the tee-shirt by the way - our squirrels need no guiding to the feeders . . . ;-)

He's a brave little fellow to go in the shed! Wonder if they will eat dog food?

How much can a woodchuck chuck?
Too much.
Great candid shots.
But I love that pic of you in the new tshirt. Your daughter is cool.

How can something so cute be an enemy :-)

Ooh for years we have had trouble with groundhogs having babies under our shed & then burrowing up the whole yard.

Thankfully this year they haven't seemed to come back!

He seems to walk around like lord of the manor!

As long as he stays in your garden-I'll be happy : )

Goodness, he is awfully bold, isn't he?

Ornery critter! The sky photos are lovely below. The dragonflies are neat. You have a good eye. Love the t-shirt, too.

Hi Tom,
That's a classic encounter with the garden raiders. I used to hunt them hard all summer, but lost interest in that.

I like to see them, but realize what a problem they can be.
