This is my posting for the My World Meme. It is hosted by Klaus, Ivar, Sandy, Wren, Louise and myself. Last week there were 100 people showing their world to us. Won't you join in, I want to see where you live and thrive. Here is part of 'My World'.
Today I was busy with some new rose bushes today. I had extended the flower bed and needed some plants in the area. I first dig a hole larger then the potted rose. These are 3 gallon Knockout Roses, a Yellow one and a Double Red one.
The ground is clay so I put some composted dirt in the bottom of the hole.

My My Tom, you are a hard working man in the garden, great post.
If you are working this hard in the garden I guess your health is strong as iron again!
Dahlias are most interesting flowers.
I appreciate looking onto a garden rather than maintaining it. Best way to keep fit and stay healthy.
That's a fine looking garden. I should get off of my lazy duff and do the same.
You and my wife would get along. Cool pics.
Have a great week

Love your garden and your photos are just great! Hope the gardening helps keep you fit and healthy!
Have a great week!
I can se more beautiful pictures coming up as these plants mature and produce lovely flowers.
Blessings,Ruth
Well --we will all be waiting to see those beautiful roses as they grow.
You have clay--and we have ROCK. Everytime we plant anythig, we have to dig out all of the rock... Not easy!!!!

Nice garden Love the geese. My husband is the gardener and to keep it that way I won't tell him I've learned something today
Your garden looks great. My land started with a lot of clay so I know what hard work that is. After living here for 25 years and adding compost, mulch, leaving fall leaves in the shady part, you never would have known that I used to have a lot of clay in my soil. I guess that's the advantage to never moving.
Busy, busy, busy! And it all pays off! Lovely.
Nice work. Your garden bloom under your great care. :)
Tom-Looks like you and I had a green thumb over the weekend...friday night I seperated a few bulbs in my flower beds. Yours look much nicer though, and what great pointers I a stealing from you...I am so a novice gardner!
Gardening is also a good form of exercise! I am looking forward to your blooms!
Nice garden. Now come work in mine! :-)
Gardening can be hard at times but it always brings so much pleasure when it all comes together.
WOW, what an awesome world you live in!! Love the new flowers!!
Take care
Your world is going to be rose beautiful! Really beautiful shots!
It has been sooooo long since I have tried gardening but my mom loves her garden so much that it is always a delight giving her an extra hand. Sadly, however, she will be migrating to Chicago in the next couple of months and I do not know what will happen to her garden now.
That is going to be lovely when all takes off growing; hope you remember and show us what everything looks like a year from now.
Really a good work in the garden, Fishing Guy. Beautiful photos!
Love your great work! Your a talented gardener!
Can't wait to see when they get bigger. I love to see the flowers but alas have black thumbs.
Gardenening has to be one of my favorite things to do. There is such great satisfaction in seeing what we plant bloom and grow, especially roses.
Tom, it is great to see the weather has warmed up and you are in the garden. It looks beautiful. Thank you for sharing your part of the world.
Blessings and smiles
It great to see these pictures and like as been said above it shows you are feeling much stronger... I have now seen many pictures from your garden and all have been beautiful... now I know why... it's well worked and hard graft that is done to keep it so.
Tom :O)
My blogs today show Meadow Views and Butterfly's
That's a nice combination: roses and dahlias. Thank you for a lovely garden post :)
Wonderful work. Those flowers are going to bloom beautifully.

Knockout roses are some amazing flowers. They just bloom and bloom!
I was tending to my mother's garden - in Sweden (!) - and it's such a joy to be out in the sun and just trimming plants, then later watching them grow. You have a beautiful garden Tom, and it shows that you love tending to it!
I make my holes a spade deeper and turn in a layer of cow/sheep and horse manure at the base of the hole, covered be soil before I plant the rose.In the second year as they access the goodies you get flowers like you would not believe.
I really like your garden Tom.
You have made that a beautiful area to sit near ..so peaceful looking !!
You did a great job, Tom. I'm sure you will soon be rewarded with some beautiful roses.
Seeing all of this makes me miss my gardens of when we used to have a home with lots of land... such a pretty area that you have to plant such pretty things!
About the turtle on my other blog, we didn't actually catch in on the fishing line.... we just seen his little head bobbing up from the waters and we paddled up to the little guy and plucked him up from the waters! I was surprised because we were in fairly deep waters too... I was worried because the ospreys were circling around and around...
Love working in the garden -- until it gets too hot! Dahlias don't do well for me. Shucks! Thanks for a look at your garden.
