Spring is Having a Hard Time in Coming

It was a week ago when I thought Spring was coming and posted some flower starting to come forth. It was just a week and a snow storm ago that I showed Little Signs of Spring. This is a Holly Bush at the end of the bed where the flowers are still trying to fight their way through the snow.
You can see the snow still in the area but these flowers are looking healthy.
Here are some that are poking there heads through the melted area.
This plant isn't even waiting for the snow to leave before blooming.
It's a good thing Spring flowers are more hardy then I am or they would be still napping in this kind of weather.

These pictures are pretty and reflect the way it is around here too but I'm glad it's slow as we maybe won't have quite as many fires in August.

This is the first for me to see flowers blooming with snow still on the ground. I say you do have a green thumb.

Pretty flowers what ever they are.

Great set of pictures, nice to see an Holly. One of my favourites over here. I have a lot of luck around Holly trees with the camera. I think the tree attracts quite a bit of wildlife, either feed for or under in. Owls like to roost in Holly and I have come across them in 3 different trees. The leaves alway stay crunchy and give a warning when something is in the undergroth, if I keep still I might just be lucky to see what it is.
The spring flowers will I'm sure cope well enough with this late snow, only the weaker plants will suffer... it is goog to see the flowers still putting on a show inspite of winter trying to hold on.
Great post

Wow. I can't believe this weather either. It seems like it is taking forever for spring to get here. I know it says it is spring on the calendar but you and I both know this isn't spring weather. LOL

Nice Photography.

It is amazing how these little plants can hold on even though Jack Frost continues to fling snow at them. It's not fair really, teasing us with lovely flowers and then a blanket of cold wet snow.
In my area, nature is smart. It will not bring up any of the flowers in the area until it's finished snowing until the middle of April.

Great photos, by the way!

Thanks for linking to Salty and I. I'll link to you also.

I enjoy your blog a lot!

We don't have snow here, but it just can't seem to really be spring like and I am impatient.

I like the flower pictures in the snow. It is always good to be able to show contrasts like that.

I'm surprised the flowers didn't emerge wearing snow suits.

Brrrrrrrr. I get cold just looking at them.

I'm getting ready for our Cherry Blossom Festival in Macon, Georgia, so hopefully I'll some pretty flowers for my blog too.

If you can find pictures of Lady Slippers, can you post some? I miss those. I also miss lilac bushes. Oh how I wish we could grow those and white birch trees. I really miss things about the North.
