If any of my readers don't check out my art blogs you need to read Rebecca Burch's blog 'carpe you some diem' today. Rebecca had a student of hers die in a car accident before Christmas. She wrote a beautiful memorial to Laura. If you're not moved by this post you must have a lock on your heart.
Rebecca is a wonderful artist and does some great things with her students. The writing today showed an artist view of life in a special way.

FG, thanks for pointing to her site. It's been a while since I checked out everyone's blog, and I would have missed that.
It's a very sweet story that's touching.
Thans for the hat-tip, Fishing Guy. The sentiment was easy, but writing everything in past-tense was one of the hardest things I've ever had to do. She's the third student I've lost in my teaching career, and sometimes I think those losses are more difficult to accept than some family members. My students are a lot like family, though -- I'm with them all day everyday (sometimes more than their own parents!) So the loss hits hard.
It is somewhat comforting to know that she has made such a mark on so many people.
